Is it old age?

It is commonly accepted that old age begins to take its toll after 50. It seems inevitable that aches and pains will become a constant part of life. While ageing is inevitable and impacts our body, “being old” should never be an excuse for not taking care of yourself.

“I used to enjoy playing football, but I keep getting hurt recently – it’s not worth it anymore…”

“Some time ago, I used to go for walks every weekend, but my knees can’t take it anymore…”

Pain is the signal from the body to tell you that something is wrong and that the body needs maintenance. If the problem in question is checked sooner rather than later, you will be able to stay active and have a high quality of life going forward over time.

Getting old changes your body

Over the years, the physicist goes through many moments of stress, and the body tries to adapt as best it can. The various compensations that occur in posture, joints, and muscles become less effective over time, this will result in decreased mobility, an increase in muscle stiffness, loss of balance, and a decrease in your ability to continue doing the hobbies that interest you.

This is a problem for two reasons: first, there is no reason why we give up the things we love to do as we get older, and second, it is because maintaining physical exercise (along with a good diet) is one of the pillars of having a healthy life.

With the progress of time, inactivity, and without regular chiropractic cheques, the muscle fibres lose their density, making them less flexible causing contractures, and making the body prone to injury. That’s why once you were able to play tennis, football, or dance all night without any problems, now you may find yourself much more “stiff” the next day or even cause yourself damage that stops you for a while.

Dr. Steele says that “as we age, our backs and spinal columns are particularly affected and that is why we need to look at them as much as any other visible part. “Chiropractic back treatment is an essential part of improving muscle and joint problems to make sure they don’t compromise your ability to do what you want in your life. “

Prevention is better than cure

Maybe your neck hurts when you check your rearview mirror, maybe your back hurts when you get out of bed or sit for a long time, or your legs hurt even after short walks. This is not normal, and you shouldn’t accept it. It doesn’t come from your “old age”!

Chiropractic will help you decrease the pain, try to prevent it from returning, and make sure you can live your life to the fullest and do all the things you want to do.

Chiropractic is one of the most commonly used disciplines by adults. By trying to understand the cause of the problem, chiropractic allows you to continue being an active part of your work, and family life and keeping up with your hobbies. By staying active you reduce the risk of developing high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc. Chiropractic is as much about care as it is about prevention, and you can increase your chances of remaining independent, even in old age.

The British Chiropractic Association (BCA) says: “first you start thinking about how your body is ageing and the sooner you can make the best decision to keep yourself mobile and flexible.
It will not only help you do all the recreational activities you want, but also keep you independent and avoid falls “.
